How to Upload Your Show Onto the WordPress Website

STEP 1 – Log into https://shows.coopradio.org/myshow

STEP 2 – Go to the ‘Posts’ page

You can find the ‘Posts’ page by clicking the ‘Posts’ icon (it has an image of a tack to the left of it.

STEP 3 – Add a new post

Click on the ‘Add New’ button right at the top, beside the word ‘Posts’.

STEP 4 – Make an ‘audio post’ block

First, title your post with your SHOW TITLE, and the DATE YOU WANT YOUR SHOW TO PLAY.

Then, click the black plus sign, and type ‘audio’ in the search bar that comes up. 

Next, click the ‘audio’ option that will appear.

STEP 5 – Upload your audio file to the media library

Click the ‘Media Library’ button.

Then, click the ‘Select Files’ button, and find the .mp3 of your show on your computer. 

 Once you select the audio file of your show for uploading, you should get a window that looks like this:

It is crucial that you wait until the ‘Uploading’ bar is all blue before exiting the Media Library.  That means your file has finished uploading completely. 

After your file is done uploading, it should look like this:

Then, click the blue ‘Select’ button at the bottom-right of your screen.

STEP 6 – Make sure it’s in the right category

This step applies only if you produce multiple shows! 

On the menu on the right side, expand the ‘Categories’ drop-down menu. 

Make sure the category selected matches the show you’re uploading.

(In this example, I've selected my 'H8Bit' podcast category) 

STEP 7 – Preview your post

In the same menu on the right side, expand the ‘Permalink’ drop-down menu, and click on the link that appears under ‘View Post’.  

Your post will open in a new tab.

From there, press the ‘play’ button and click around the audio file, especially toward the end, to make sure the whole audio file is uploaded.

Step 8 – Publish your post!

If your audio file is all there, then go back to the previous tab (entitled ‘Add New Post’) and click the blue ‘Publish’ button.

And that’s it! ?
